Played it yesterday evening for a while... very strange (even with physics settings similar to the one we're playing atm) and frankly, I still think that Nexuiz didn't need to be re-designed that much Sad The player models are VERY-VERY small, hitting something is way harder than it is now... but then, I'm a noob anyway Razz

AxG have a server up, you'll see it on the list... then there are normal CTF servers and normal DM up. Not many, but a few are already out there Smile

Hi, guys,

I downloaded xonotic 0.1 preview yesterday, started it and discovered that the Servers menu item is grayed. I wonder what i did wrong? I don't remember that i did something special to get access to the server list when i installed nexuiz...

I played a bit on AxG Yesterday (demolished their BOT completely Smile). The graphics is definitely better. Mo said it's faster but I found it slower, especially the hook.
All in all it's not bad. I think we'll get used to it.

It's all in the server settings.... AxG uses the same bad settings for their hook as PK and NK uses for their servers on Nexuiz xD

Try joining Akaris Test Server and you'll se how things should work Smile

I have also this.... unpleasantness to play Xonotic. Unplayable. This movement... omg... phisics is at least 10 times worse than settings for ctf not mention standard dm or 1on1 settings. I dunno why there is still floor. Models don't use it to move. Great job... assuming this is hovercraft racing game, not fpp shooter. Laughing

I am afraid the migration is inevitable. Some bugs in the last version of late nexuiz are still there and nobody gonna fix them. The graphics is ancient. Nexuiz will be attracting less and less people until dies Sad.
On the other hand perhaps we could contribute in xotonic telling the developers in advance what we see wrong.

Yes I'm sure that it is inevitable. But I don't understand such blind rush. People install standard maps, messing with dozens of cvars to improve phisics. But for what? Xonotic is for me late alpha or early beta now.

On example from Ubuntu Server editon u also can create Ubuntu Desktop. U need only to install aditional 1000 packets Smile But what's the point? If developers would release Ubuntu Desktop with functionality similiar to Ubuntu Server nobody would treat this release serious.

I played on PK server couple mins ago. Still suck but it seems it is more playable compared to server I was last time.

Well if illfonic would release PC version based on free licence and it would be better than Xonotic I would gladly setup server for illfonic Nexuiz. I'm not a fanatic!

But if it wouldn't be based on free licence I would show illfonic my erect middle finger independly of quality of this version and time of its release.
