New gamemodes all around!

I'm back!

Sooo, here are some news regarding some new modes you guys might have missed ^^

First of all, the public -=UFB=- server has become rather popular. Akari from TBC has implemented some awesome gamemodes. Here they are:



I suggest you head over to their server to check it out atleast if you haven't done so already.

Secondly, Synap from TBC is also working on a new mode.
Primarily for DM/TDM. It makes the gameplay a lot slower and a lot more tactical. To kill an enemy you have to hit 2-3 shots on the body or 1 headshot. But there is a catch. The bullets penetrate the walls making for some awesome kills from time to time.

I didn't expect myself to enjoy it really since I play Nexuiz much for it's speed but it was really a nice change of pace.

To check it out open the console (§ default) and type in "connect cr0.nl".

Thanks for the info. I will try the new modes. As far as the synap's one I also think it's not for a true ctf player. But I expect wall hack may become veeery popular there

Well, since it is for DM I won't debate you if it's for ctf players or not. But I do think that variation has never hurt anyone.

As for wallhack... Well, that assumes you got a wallhack, and it ain't that easy to get a hold of. Secondly, I do really think there is such a thing like honor among most Nexuiz players. The people that I don't like/trust is the ones most likely to be cheating and those ones I don't play with.

Well, NESQUICK, plz don't be too serious. I don't have a wallhack and even I did it wouldn't make much difference with my terrible aim

As far as honor and stuff I totally agree but I was quite surprised reading that recent discussion in exile forum how many ppl use it.

I tried frozen tag and vip. I liked vip but ft seems to me a bit boring since sometimes u spend the whole match in that tag waiting until one or the other team scores.
Besides it's a DM mode.
I also tried the key hunt but coudn't get the idea completely. Are there any descriptions around?

From what I remember you have to possess all the keys and get them together in one place. There is no base so it doesn't matter where.

Ah, thanks. This means that different players can possess the keys. Should it be some kind of key hand over event, like all give their keys to one person?

Instead of place I sould say person This "hang over event" is just droping the key to allow one person from your team to carry all the keys.

Well, it's easier to just walk against each other. 1 person don't have to hold all the keys but the 2 persons from the same team that has the keys has to walk against each other to score.

Another thing to add, if you shoot someone and the keys hit the ground of a map like lostspace you automatically get them when they respawn.

So, the proximity of the keys possesed in one team is a major determinant. I wasn't sure of that but i played this mode nearly 2 years ago when I firstly uploaded Nex and run single player campain

I dunno Pir what you mean about Freud (I've never read any of his publications) but I'm always willing to drink in good company, so cheers mate

Keyhunt is acctually a pretty good gamemode cause you can have a funwar with 3 participants. Sp***k from TBC and jngm from DBC is particularly good at it :C ... Damn it now I have to schedule another war -.-

I have to say tough, I played totaldomination on dm_castle the other day and it was on of the most fun games I've played in a long time. So much to think about, and so much tactic. The teams was very unbalanced at first but then more and more good players joined the other team, the last games was EPIC.

Yeah, very nice demo. Looks like a multi-flag ctf. And no need to deliver the flag to the base.
I am gonna try it.

The problem is that they vote frozen tag almost all of the time which i definitely don't like. Naturally DM ppl completely occupied the server.

I share your view Pir.frozen tag mode is a bit boring for me.Too much waiting.But of course, it does have its fans

Yeah, we have talked about that and probably they are going to make a setting on the server that makes it so you can't play the same mode 2 times in a row... Hopefully that will mix it up. =)

It's still not decided tough, some people didn't seem to like the idea.
