Hey gals and girls,
In light of the general inactivity of the 1v1 scene I will organize something that should make some oldies and goodies come back to play once again.

a Weekly 1vs1 King of the Hill

If you don't know what King of the Hill is, it is a competition format where 2 players/teams play a match and the winner becomes King of the Hill. Then, in the next match the winner is challenged by another team/player. The winner of that becomes the next King of the Hill - and so on.

I will update this thread frequently as I make up the rules, map pool etc.

FORMAT AND RULES

The Format will be best of seven. The first player to win 4 maps wins the match.
There will be one match per week, the two opponents can play at a time they both agree on during that week (Monday-Sunday).
It is possible to play on more than one day (for example, play 3 maps on one day and the rest on another day) but of course only if both players agree.
If you you sign up, get selected to play and nobody can reach you, someone else will play instead of you.

All matches have to be played on the NK #2 1on1 Server. It would be good if someone with master access to the server is there to kick anyone hogging the player spots.
Both players have to provide demos and screenshots for all played matches (If you are not sure how to do that, just ask!)

Challengers are selected randomly from the pool of people that signed up, but if you played and lost you cannot sign up again for the next 4 weeks.
REMEMBER: You have to sign up for every week individually so if you don't have time one week Don't sign up!!

Each player can remove one map that he doesn't want to play, from the remaining maps the first map is chosen randomly. From there the loser picks the next map.

You have to sign up as a challenger for every new match, so we can make sure you will be able to play. To sign up just reply to the thread for the match (see next section for links) or you can contact me on IRC at #nk.koth at irc.quakenet.org.

This is more or less a test run, if there are lots of people participating and not too many problems with people not showing up I might create some sort of 1v1 league over my semester break.

Nice idea BW even though I don't really think I have the skills for such matches :p and it's quite hard to get organized with my job, but I like it!

btw2.How continued development of this event? Some news?

And maps: I think Anal may reduce the map list, for this event.
