I added "game commencing" staff (reset score when second player join) a slow down our server a bit making phisics more similiar to PK server (but still not exact)

I hope u like new settings...

If some others NKs will complain about new settings I will consider to restore old ones but if I do so I won't play on this server myself.

Too fast, making game chaotic and not good for ppl with low sens (in matter of fact all best players has low sens )

You see Nesquick if I say player I don't mean ctf coz for me its another planet. I know (knew coz I don't bother to remember such things) nearly all of exact sens values of best 10 1on1 players. And from this values I notice any bigger sens only once - Frrr.

But if u don't like word 'all' I say - ok, not all. But low sens is common among best 1on1 players.

Well, you know, i still play 1on1... However for one of the same reason i switched teams i play on the DTG server so i don't have to switch physics all the time. The only times i come to visit is when i see a old firend or something on PK/NK servers

And besides... What does the sence values give you? ... If you have i good mouse you can set the DPI and sence in a stand alone software...

Your sensor? Probably 4000DPI or 5600DPI So 1.9 is... very big sens I have 4000DPI and 0.55 sens.

And u for sure don't fit "calm and collected aimers category".

But it don't mean anything coz I really don't claim anything except two things:
1. If u have low sens slower phisics is better for u and from other side if phisics is slow low sens gives u an advantage.
2. Best 1on1 players I know (I don't know ppl playing on DTG) mostly has low sens.

But:

First - big sens doesn't mean u can't be good. But if your skills are similiar u will loose with campy, sneaky low sens guy, especially on slower phisics. From the other side - if u won by couple points u wasn't just better, u was significantly better coz lower sens and campy style on slow phicics server gives u an advantage.

Second - in certain cases there is no such thing as objective truth. And server phisics (speed) is definitly one of that cases. There is no reasonable argument which setinng is better. "True" is defined many times by those who in some way "rules" in community. And DM world is world of Iron, Pat, Raab, Slatte, Venom, Coco, Vinc etc. which u can call low sens campers. So they define canons of best settings.

The thing that really changes the gameplay is the speed... The lower sens and campy style doesn't really work on our servers cause with slingshot by hook somebody will be behind you before you'll have time to pull the trigger =)... However i agree with you,,, On slower physics they'll probably win...
Hmmm, i really got the taste for start mega speed training on PK/NK servers now just to prove you wrong... To bad we have a CTF tournament coming up =(

Anyway, the reason you don't know good 1on1 players with high sensor is cause you just play with your own physics... Visit the DTG server from time to time and just spectate ^^ ... You'll probably find some players that will surprise you =)

Server is down!

All thanks u should address to Cookie.... no just kidding I think the one which is to blame is Ubuntu developers or my hosting company.

I tried to install some stuff Cookie asked me to install for his tests but failed. I had no access to Ubuntu repositories. After some investigation I founded why - I have Ubuntu 8.10 - support of this version has ended. So decieded to upgrade system to 9.04. After long time of installing new packets upgrade process has finished with statement similiar to this: "lilo error. Upgrade failed. Your system could be permanently corrupted".

My hosting company has washed his hands - they install 8.10 on my server, when Ubuntu support for this system has finished they offer only 8.04 LTS and said they support only systems which they have in their offer. So they can only install/upgrade to/ fix 8.04 version. If anybody upgrade system to another version he do it on his own risk. Since there is no possibility to
downgrade system to 8.04 I'm on my own. I can only try to rescue my system and if I fail I have to ask hosting company to install fresh Ubuntu 8.04 and I will lost all data. So if I'm lucky server will be restored in couple days. If not it can be down even for more than a week.

That sucks and that is the main reason why I left Ubuntu for good, moving to ArchLinux (which is a rolling release compared to a fixed like Ubuntu is...). Upgrading from 8.x to 9.x had always been a problem, and I can only imagine it's the same for 9.x->10.x upgrades. Plus, this April they're due to stop support for 9.04 and 9.10 as well, so even if the upgrade would have been successful you probably would have found the same problems in some months...

Sorry you have so many troubles. My advice: don't worry for now, get yourself a nice holiday and drink it up! Things will look better after

I have a question:Will be able to create our NK server for xonotic? Just asking,becouse I think that will over time xonotic popular as Nexuiz.

Of course it is possible. But how long it will take I won't tell u. First of all I need to buy additional hard disk space. Now I have only 10GB - 5GB for /home and 5GB for / Nearly all space is in use mainly by svn Nexuiz version (nearly 5GB ) qcc library and darkplaces engine coz some modifications of our current server was only possible by patching svn version and compile it from the source.

Probably some day I will setup Xonotic server but it is not perspective of week or two but more likely 2-3 months.

NK server is restored. I decieded to change one thing in acceptable modes.

Last time I setup server as to be DM with option to switch to 1on1 or TDM. But it was more time 1on1 server than DM. I saw many ppl left coz they want to play DM but they can't. So I blocked 1on1 option. Now u can choose only between DM or TDM.

Instead of 1on1 mode I setup second server with acceptable modes 1on1 or TDM.

So now we have:

[NK] 2.5.2 Natural Killer #1 Minsta|Hook DM+TDM
[NK] 2.5.2 Natural Killer #2 Minsta|Hook 1on1

+ BFG 1on1 server (which for most ppl has too big ping unfortunatelly)

As server died anyway I removed from the 1on1 server most maps, leaving only those that I think are suitable for 1on1 mode. If you have any additional suggestions or something does not work as it should (I'm pretty drunk today ) then write what is wrong.

Can you write a list of maps which are on our 1on1 server?
