While being a man I have no real right to challenge this assumption, I'd like to point out one thing.

I have the feeling (being the survey from 2007) that it picked up a simple strong trend that probably started around then (3 to 5 years ago) with the Wii, the Nintendo DS (especially) and the PSP, a trend that saw a lot of girls usually very far away from being interested in games suddenly getting to define themselves as "gamers". This to say: it's not that suddenly girl gamers started having sex more often, just that "non-gamers" girls that were already having sex more often than the gamers, started to labelling themselves as "Gamers".

...then, the assumption that among 100 people (97% of those men) at a Quake LAN party, that 3% of girls had always had a great deal of potential partners, well, that's another story but I believe the reason behind the "sex more often" is because the starting point (as in: sex frequency in the gaming community) might have been below average to start with, and those "new girls" suddenly coming (*wink*) under the "GAMERS" label had simply risen the average a bit.

Now, why on Earth did I feel the need to explain all that.

Still, I would prefer to think the other way around , that is, like the study says.
And, Lucy, the idea to do a survey among the fellow female gamers (we all know quite a few) is a great one!

It is also possible the rise in the number of girl gamers gave the normally reclusive single boy gamers someone to 'play' with.

It would be interesting to discover whether the amount of gaming falls as the amount of loving rises.

Well It depends how the survey is conducted. If I would find some "gamer" girl to compare it could be quite interesting Unfortunately I don't think my girlfriend would share my opinion about such survey
