Hey guys/gals, it seems the NK DM server is no longer showing on the server list. Can anyone tell me what happened to it?

I do not know what's wrong. I see both of our servers :

Yes when I looked today it was back up. Everything seems fine

It disapears sometimes (up time is average 2-3 weeks) I don't know why. Probably it is a bit unstable. I observe giant load on dm server last 1-2 months. Sometimes server is even full what I've never noticed before. Most people are noobs but it is good to know that Nex is experiencing the second youth.

I check every 2-3 days if the server is available and if not I restore it.

I also noticed. It's great that people are still attracted to Nexuiz, and especially our server

We have no competition now Long time ago before I even joined NK I remember at least 3 good servers. Two PK's running by Iron (which were full very frequently) and at least one running by Exiles. But they are gone for a long time. Now I know only one good old server except ours - the prophet's one. But I think it's not suprising I prefer ours It has a bit altered phisics (faster) and also faster fire rate.

There is only one flaw. Our server become a bit laggy. When I was running it first time it has significantly better connection. But hosting company has removed real private servers from current offer. So they still allow existing users to extend service but don't bother about service quality They leave only virtual private servers which are much worse and fully dedicated servers which costs at least 70 EUR per month (ours 25). To much for me only for hosting Nexuiz, mysql database and some tests as it is till now.

On summer holidays it may change however. I will probably start a portal so I have to have strong machine with a very good connection. And probably I will migrate Nexuiz server there. Maybe it will be a good idea to add NK CTF server then? We have Die Tunichtguten CTF server. But with in-built restriction to use it as private server. If our CTF players like an idea to restore Die Tunichtguten server as NK server there is task for you to obtain theirs server without any restrictions.

And about CTF server. A short time ago appeared RM servers, which include CTF server.It's not UFB, but it really works on a similar principle, maybe a little better (for me ). These servers are often full, and DTG server is empty most of the time. So I dunno, if it would make sense to create another CTF server with DTG setup.

Lol. It seems I made a mistake. I've never searched for DTG server in empty servers coz it was always full or close to full. So I thought the server was shut down permanently

So what happen then? How it is possible that server with avarage load of 18/20 for at least 6 hours a day nearly instantly become totally deserted? I think it was most popular Nexuiz server ever. For me who wasn't on servers for week or maybe little more it was as usual once and then suddenly permanently disapear.

Of course if there is still DTG server and it is empty most of the time my idea has no sense at all

So what servers now are replacement for DTG server? And wtf is RM server?

RM are TBC servers with rocket minsta mod. There is a possibility to choose between DM,TDM,Frezzetag and VIP mode. I think that there is a 5-6 [RM] servers and one is CTF server. Simply open the server list without filter (minsta) and you see it
Today I not found DTG server in serverlist. So maybe is rly dead. I dunno

Some server admins already switch from nexuiz to xonotic servers - even so dtg do ....
